How this directory works

1 · Discovery

Public channels enter the catalog through six automated discovery methods: mention-graph crawling (channels mention channels), search-engine queries, public directories, keyword combinations, sitemaps of Telegram-related sites, and Telegram's own public ads surface. Anyone can also submit a channel directly.

2 · Verification

For every handle, the crawler reads the public Telegram profile page and records the subscriber count, title, description, username and avatar. Counts are re-checked on a rolling schedule — every profile shows its Last crawled timestamp. Nothing is self-reported.

3 · Classification

A classifier assigns each channel to one of 24 topic categories using the title, description and — for ambiguous cases — the text of recent public posts. Channels without reliable evidence stay marked unclassified instead of guessing. Owners can request manual review after submitting.

4 · Quality rules

• Only channels with ≥ 1,000 verified members enter the ad-active directory.
• Growth history is stored per channel, so trend charts reflect real checkpoints.
• Duplicate handles (same avatar or identical long titles) are flagged for review.
• Channels with no activity signals are excluded from paid lists.

5 · Coverage right now

6 · Your channel, your data

We only store what any visitor of a public t.me page can see. Channel owners can claim and enrich their listing, or request removal at any time via the removal request form.
